The Return of St Patrick’s Day Festivities in London!
It’s time to enjoy the craic once again!
The annual St Patrick’s Day parade is back, so raise a glass to Ireland whilst following the green procession through the heart of London, using Lords Hotel as your affordable and convenient base.
This year, Sunday 13th March, marks the return of London’s St Patrick’s Day Parade. Over 100,000 visitors will gather around Green Park at noon to follow the spectacular walk towards Trafalgar Square, where a festival will be held. Join in and watch the elaborate Irish float groups representing the 32 counties of Ireland and enjoy traditional food, dance and music.
Or why not have a pint (or several) of Guiness at Waxy O’Connor’s on 17th March? Only 20 mins by tube from our hotel – not far to travel after a night of celebrations. Just make sure you don’t foget the giant green hat!
Located on Rupert Street at the edge of Soho, Waxy O’Conners is a labyrinth of four unique bars over six levels, each with its own atmosphere and personality, as well as the famous Waxy’s Tree found at the heart of the pub.
Once you’ve shaken off the hangover, how about continuing the festivities and shedding a few pounds at the St Patrick’s Day run on 19th March? Meeting at Wellington Arch, a short bus ride from our hotel, the run is a 5k lap of the perimiter of Hyde Park, followed by (you guessed it!) more revelry at an Irish themed bar.
However, the best way to sample Irish produce in London then may just be The Cow – an essential destination for Guiness and oysters and only 15 mins walk from the hotel. Boasting a saloon bar and dining room, it’s possible for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet to escape the hubbub of bar life for a quiet table on the first floor. Just make sure you get booking soon!
