Museums:

The Science Museum

has a host of special events on, for kids and adults of any age. Whether you’re interested in the natural world, space exploration or flight, there’s surely something here to tickle your fancy. Just a short tube ride away on the Circle Line, you’re only 20 minutes away from our hotel.

Fans of Dippy the Diplodocus will revel in this October HalfTerm’s plans at the Natural History Museum where the much-loved Dinosaur skeleton returns to the main hall. Also a short tube ride away, the museum can also be reached in half an hour by foot through majestic Hyde Park or a 25 minute bus ride (buses 52, 70 & 452).

For arts and crafts mad kids, the V&A Museum (on the same road as the Natural History Museum) also has a great October half-term special where kids can create their own giant cardboard prop as part of a drop-in workshop for families.

A little further afield on the South Bank, and only on until the 19th of October, the culturally curious amongst you have the perfect opportunity to infuse a love of art with your children and get messy with paint at the Tate Modern at the Uniqlo Tate Play.

For a full list of all of London’s museums, we recommend checking Visit London’s guide to the best museums all across town.

Tourist Attractions:

And just across at the London Eye, the more well-known Central London tourist attractions still pose a huge draw for the city. If you’re looking to see some of these for the first (or repeat!) time, then the Merlin attraction pass for London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s, SEA LIFE, London Dungeon and Shrek’s Adventure is a great way to save money if you’re planning on seeing any number of these attractions, all within easy reach by tube from our hotel.

For children aged 4-14 you can always drop in to Kidzania at Westfield Shepherds Bush, just 18 minutes door to door from Lords Hotel London by tube, and one of the top shopping locations in the capital.

Every day from 10am-7pm children can role play and learn what it’s like to work in a number of professions including an aviation academy, bank, spy agency, cleaning company, courier service, dance club, fashion studio, fire and rescue, hospital/baby care/A&E, hotel, job info centre, library, medical courier service, music academy, newspaper, pet wellbeing centre, photo stdio, police department, Pokemon creative studio, radio station, science lab, Service station, supermarket, TV studio, university and kitchen. Quite the full range for any career-curious youngster, and a perfect opportunity to partake in some retail therapy at the same time!

Leicester Square & Theatreland:

With Theatreland within easy reach of the hotel we also thoroughly recommend Visit London’s guide to all the shows and musicals currently on in London that are suitable for kids.

And, if you do find yourself in Theatreland this October half-term, do check out the Scenes in the Square culture trail in Leicester Square, where you’ll be able to explore icons from film and TV throughout the last hundred years.

Outdoor Activities:

Phew! If all this hasn’t already got you out of breath thinking about all the fun things London has to offer, if the weather is good, our hotel is close to Hyde Park. With it on our doorstep there’s no better place to catch some fresh air or take a heartening walk in the beautiful autumnal scenes that the park has to offer.

Lastly, if there is any excess energy abound, then why not tire the kids out at Go Ape in Battersea, a little further afield, but still only a tube and bus away from the hotel. This October sees the return of their Sundown Sessions where neon lighting illuminates the park in wondrous colour!

Whatever it is you end up doing, we would love to host you at Lords Hotel London and wish you a fantastic fun-filled October half-term 2022!
