Halloween is fast approaching! So why not take a deep dive into the spooky season and enjoy one of the many events taking place as part of the London Month of the Dead. Many events take place at the Kensal Green Cemetery’s Dissenter’s Chapel – part of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ London cemeteries and just a short bus ride away from our hotel.

Or, for something more light-hearted, how about London’s Ghost Bus Tours – departing from 8 Northumberland Avenue close to Embankment Station, just a half hour’s ride on the Circle Line from our doorstep. The tour takes in most of London’s landmarks, with a haunted twist!

Nightlife:
Why not catch the last days of our local take on Germany’s Oktoberfest at Wunderbar taking place at Pergola, Paddington. Opening until Sunday 30th October Wunderbar serves up ‘real German beers, delicious Bavarian food and a hearty helping of ‘Gemütlichkeit’; that sense of comfort, warmth and wellbeing you can only get belting out Sweet Caroline amongst friends.’ Wunderbar promises to be an authentic Bavarian treat, just a 20 minute walk from Lords Hotel.

Halloween is always one of the best nights of the year for a party, so why not check out this year’s R&B SUPERSTARS HALLOWEEN BLOCK PARTY taking place on Sunday 30th October from 7:30pm, just a short taxi ride away from our hotel at the Hammersmith Event Apollo. Or, if you’re after a wild Saturday night on the Thames, how about the UK Garage Halloween Fancy Dress Boat Party leaving from Festival Pier and travelling up and down the Thames on one of the biggest vessels available to charter!

Diwali and Guy Fawkes Night:

With the main Central London Diwali event behind us, for those looking to celebrate with a special meal, conveniently located locally at Kricket in White City, we recommend the slap-up vegetarian Diwali feast on Monday 24th October – tickets going fast here: .

OK, there’s no big Bonfire Night fireworks display on our doorstep, but we can’t go without mentioning the two biggest ones in the area. On Thursday 3rd November 2022, Chiswick Park (accessible by bus and tube from Lords Hotel London) hosts a grand event complete with food and drink for all ages. Tickets are limited and available here: And, with this year’s date falling on a Saturday, why not make the most of it and head to Battersea Park’s Bonfire Night celebrations https://www.batterseaparkfireworks.com/? Kicking off at 6pm on Saturday 5th November, the opening night is followed by a beer-centred afterparty. This year’s event is a two-day affair culminating in a family night on Sunday 6th November where kids can gorge on sweets and adults can enjoy mulled wine, all in the presence of a special lights display and a second bout of eye-catching fireworks.

Art:
Frameless https://frameless.com/ is an immersive art experience taking some of the world’s most iconic paintings and transforming them into multi-dimensional, brightly lit spaces with an accompanying musical soundtrack. Situated just a 15 minute bus ride away from the hotel, and open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, this is the perfect evening treat for both young and old alike!

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year https://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit/exhibitions/wildlife-photographer-of-the-year.html takes place at the Natural History Museum, just 20 minutes from our doorstep, from 14th October 2022 until July next year. This year’s collection is annotated by Museum scientists inviting the viewer to consider how human activity continues to shape the natural world.
